Ingredients

1 lb ground chicken

2 tablespoons hoisin sauce

1 tablespoon soy sauce

2 teaspoons sesame oil

2 garlic cloves, minced

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced

1 red bell pepper, finely chopped

1 cup water chestnuts, diced

2 green onions, finely chopped

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 teaspoon Chinese five-spice powder

1 head of Butter Lettuce or Iceberg Lettuce (for wraps)

Optional toppings: Sriracha, chopped cilantro, crushed peanuts

Instructions

Prepare the Chicken Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken with the hoisin sauce, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Add the minced garlic and ginger, along with the finely chopped red bell pepper, diced water chestnuts, and chopped green onions. Sprinkle in the rice vinegar and Chinese five-spice powder. Use a spatula or your hands to mix the ingredients thoroughly until well combined and evenly distributed.

Preheat the Air Fryer: Begin by preheating your air fryer to 380°F (190°C). Allow it to heat for about 5 minutes to ensure it reaches the perfect temperature for cooking.

Cook the Chicken Mixture: Carefully transfer the chicken mixture into the air fryer basket, spreading it out in an even layer. Cook for 10-12 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through the cooking time to promote even cooking. The chicken is done when it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).

Prepare the Lettuce Wraps: While the chicken cooks, gently separate the lettuce leaves from the head and rinse them under cool water. Pat the leaves dry with a clean paper towel to remove excess moisture.

Assemble the Wraps: Once the chicken mixture is fully cooked, remove it from the air fryer and allow it to cool for a couple of minutes. Take one lettuce leaf and place a generous spoonful of the chicken mixture into the center.

Garnish and Serve: Add your desired toppings to each wrap: a drizzle of Sriracha for a spicy kick, a sprinkle of chopped cilantro for a burst of freshness, or crushed peanuts for a satisfying crunch. Serve the wraps immediately, accompanied by lime wedges for an extra zesty flavor.
