Ingredients

8 oz elbow macaroni

1 lb lobster meat, cooked and roughly chopped

4 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

1 cup Gruyère cheese, shredded

1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated

4 cups whole milk

1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick)

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for spice)

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

Salt and black pepper, to taste

1 cup panko breadcrumbs

Fresh parsley, finely chopped for garnish

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C), ensuring it's ready for your delicious bake.

Cook the Macaroni: Fill a large pot with water, add a generous pinch of salt, and bring it to a boil. Once boiling, add the elbow macaroni and cook according to package instructions until al dente (firm to the bite). Drain the pasta well and set aside.

Make the Cheese Sauce: In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter until completely liquid. Gradually whisk in the all-purpose flour and continue to cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly, to create a roux. Slowly add the whole milk, whisking vigorously to prevent any lumps. Keep cooking and stirring the mixture until it thickens, which should take about 5-7 minutes, resulting in a sauce that coats the back of a spoon.

Add the Cheeses: Reduce the heat to low and mix in the sharp cheddar cheese, Gruyère cheese, and half of the grated Parmesan cheese. Continue stirring until all the cheese has melted and the sauce is smooth. Season the cheese sauce with cayenne pepper (if using), garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper to taste.

Combine the Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked macaroni and the roughly chopped lobster meat. Pour the cheese sauce over the macaroni and lobster, gently stirring until all components are thoroughly coated in the creamy cheese mixture.

Prepare for Baking: Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish generously with butter or non-stick spray. Pour the mac and cheese mixture into the dish, spreading it out evenly to ensure even cooking.

Top with Breadcrumbs: In a small bowl, combine the remaining grated Parmesan cheese with the panko breadcrumbs. Mix well, then evenly sprinkle this breadcrumb mixture over the mac and cheese for a delightful crunchy topping.

Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes. You’re looking for a golden brown and crispy top that is bubbling slightly around the edges.

Garnish and Serve: After baking, carefully remove the dish from the oven and allow it to cool for a few minutes. Before serving, garnish the top with freshly chopped parsley for a pop of color and added flavor.

Enjoy your decadent and sumptuous Cheesy Lobster Mac and Cheese Bake! 🦞🧀
