Ingredients

1 medium ripe avocado (approximately 150g), peeled and pitted

1/2 cup creamy almond butter

1/2 cup pure maple syrup (or honey for a different sweetness)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1/2 cup almond flour

1/2 cup chocolate-flavored protein powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt

1/2 cup dark chocolate chips (use dairy-free for a vegan option)

Optional: 1/4 cup chopped nuts (such as walnuts or pecans) for topping

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare an 8x8-inch baking dish by greasing it lightly or lining it with parchment paper for easy removal.

Prepare the Avocado: In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe avocado using a fork or a potato masher until it achieves a smooth and creamy texture. Ensure there are no lumps for a uniform brownie consistency.

Mix Wet Ingredients: Add the creamy almond butter, maple syrup, and vanilla extract to the mashed avocado. Use a whisk or spatula to mix thoroughly until all the ingredients are well combined and smooth.

Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the unsweetened cocoa powder, almond flour, chocolate protein powder, baking soda, and sea salt. Mix until the dry ingredients are evenly blended.

Combine Mixtures: Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet avocado mixture. Stir gently with a spatula or wooden spoon until just combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this will help maintain the brownies' tender texture.

Add Chocolate Chips: Gently fold in the dark chocolate chips into the brownie batter, reserving a few to sprinkle on top before baking for an extra chocolaty finish, if desired.

Bake: Transfer the brownie batter into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly. If you’re using chopped nuts, sprinkle them along with any reserved chocolate chips on top. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out mostly clean with just a few moist crumbs.

Cool & Serve: Once done, allow the brownies to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Carefully transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely. Once cooled, cut into 16 squares and indulge in the rich, chocolatey delight!

Prep Time: 10 minutes | Total Time: 35 minutes | Servings: 16 squares

                    - Presentation Tips: Serve the brownies on a rustic wooden board, lightly dusted with cocoa powder or powdered sugar for an elegant touch. Pair them with fresh raspberries or a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an irresistible dessert experience!
