Ingredients

6 large cinnamon rolls (preferably day-old or stale for best texture)

2 cups whole milk

1 cup heavy cream

4 large eggs

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Pinch of salt

1/2 cup raisins or chopped pecans (optional for added texture)

Whipped cream or icing, for serving

Instructions

Prepare the Cinnamon Rolls: Tear the cinnamon rolls into bite-sized pieces and place them in a large mixing bowl. If the rolls are too soft, you can place them in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 5-10 minutes to lightly toast and firm them up.

Make the Custard Mixture: In a separate mixing bowl, whisk together the whole milk, heavy cream, eggs, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Ensure all ingredients are well combined and smooth.

Combine Ingredients: Carefully pour the custard mixture over the torn cinnamon roll pieces. If you are including raisins or chopped pecans, sprinkle them in at this stage. Gently fold the mixture together until all the cinnamon roll pieces are evenly coated with the custard.

Let it Soak: Allow the combined mixture to sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes to let the bread absorb the custard. If you have time, cover and refrigerate the mixture for a couple of hours or overnight to enhance the flavors.

Preheat the Oven: While the mixture is soaking, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Prepare the Baking Dish: Grease a 9x13 inch (or similar sized) baking dish with butter or non-stick cooking spray to prevent sticking. Spoon the soaked cinnamon roll mixture into the baking dish, spreading it out evenly.

Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 35-45 minutes. The bread pudding is done when the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Cool and Serve: Once baked, remove from the oven and let the bread pudding cool for about 10-15 minutes before serving. Enjoy it warm, drizzled generously with whipped cream or icing.
