Ingredients

1 lb ground turkey

1/2 cup cream cheese, softened to room temperature

1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1/4 cup jalapeños, finely diced (you can use fresh or pickled)

1/4 cup green onions, finely chopped

1/2 cup breadcrumbs (use panko for an extra crunchy texture)

1 large egg

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

1/2 tsp smoked paprika

Salt and pepper, to taste

1/4 cup mayonnaise (for the creamy dip)

1 tbsp fresh lime juice (for the dip)

Optional: additional sliced jalapeños for garnish

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it to prevent sticking.

Mix the Meatball Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey with the softened cream cheese and shredded cheddar cheese. Add in the finely diced jalapeños, chopped green onions, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Gently mix the ingredients together using your hands or a spoon until just combined. Be cautious not to overmix, as this can make the meatballs tough.

Form the Meatballs: Scoop about 2 tablespoons of the mixture and roll it into a ball using your hands. Place each meatball on the prepared baking sheet. Continue until all of the mixture is formed into meatballs, yielding approximately 20-24 meatballs, depending on your size preference.

Bake the Meatballs: Transfer the baking sheet to the preheated oven. Bake the meatballs for 20-25 minutes, or until they are golden brown and cooked through (an internal temperature of 165°F/74°C is recommended).

Prepare the Creamy Dip: While the meatballs are baking, prepare the dip. In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise and fresh lime juice until smooth. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper, and adjust the lime juice to your liking for that perfect zing.

Serve: Once the meatballs are nicely browned, remove them from the oven and allow them to cool for a few minutes. Transfer them to a serving platter. For an attractive presentation, garnish with additional sliced jalapeños for a colorful finish.

Enjoy: Serve the meatballs warm, accompanied by the creamy dip on the side. They make a delicious appetizer for parties or a satisfying main dish!
