Ingredients

1 package (8 oz) of crescent roll dough

1 cup of sliced pepperoni

1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese

½ cup of marinara sauce (for dipping)

1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning

1 teaspoon of garlic powder

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Olive oil spray

Fresh basil leaves (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Start by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C). To make cleanup easier later, line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare the Crescent Roll Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough on a lightly floured surface. Carefully separate the dough into 8 triangles.

Add Fillings: On the wide end of each triangle, place 3 or 4 slices of pepperoni and top with a generous tablespoon of shredded mozzarella cheese. Sprinkle a pinch of Italian seasoning and garlic powder over the cheese to enhance the flavors.

Roll Them Up: Starting from the wide end, carefully roll each triangle towards the narrow tip, enclosing the filling completely. Pinch the ends tightly to seal, ensuring that the cheese remains inside during baking.

Apply the Egg Wash: Arrange the rolled pizza bites on the prepared baking sheet with a bit of space between each. Brush the tops of the rolls with the beaten egg to achieve a beautiful golden-brown crust when baked.

Spray with Olive Oil: For an extra crispy finish, lightly spray the tops of the rolls with olive oil.

Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the rolls are puffed and golden brown, and the mozzarella is melted.

Serve: Once baked, remove the pizza rolls from the oven and allow them to cool for a couple of minutes. Serve them warm alongside marinara sauce for dipping. If you like, garnish with fresh basil leaves for a pop of color and flavor.
