1 block (14 oz) firm tofu, pressed and drained

1 cup all-purpose flour (substitute with gluten-free flour for a gluten-free option)

1 cup unsweetened plant milk (choose almond, soy, or oat)

1 cup panko bread crumbs

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 cup buffalo sauce (can be store-bought or homemade)

2 tablespoons olive oil (for frying)

Fresh parsley, finely chopped (for garnish)

Prepare the Tofu: Begin by slicing the pressed tofu into bite-sized cubes, aiming for approximately 1-inch pieces. Use a paper towel to pat the tofu dry, ensuring any excess moisture is removed for better breading.

    Set Up Breading Station: Organize your breading station by placing the following in separate bowls: the first bowl should hold the flour mixed with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. In the second bowl, pour in the plant milk. The third bowl will contain the panko bread crumbs.

      Bread the Tofu: Take each tofu cube and dredge it in the seasoned flour mixture, allowing it to coat evenly. Next, dip the floured tofu into the plant milk, letting any excess drip back into the bowl. Finally, roll each piece in the panko bread crumbs, pressing gently to ensure they adhere. Repeat this process for all tofu cubes until fully coated.

        Fry the Tofu: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once the oil is shimmering, carefully add the breaded tofu pieces in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry each side for about 3-4 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crisp. Once done, remove the tofu bites from the skillet and lay them on paper towels to drain excess oil.

          Add Buffalo Sauce: In a large mixing bowl, combine the crispy tofu bites with the buffalo sauce. Toss gently until each piece is thoroughly coated in the spicy sauce.
