Ingredients

1 pound large raw shrimp, peeled and deveined

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 tablespoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust for your desired spice level)

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon dried thyme

1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

1/2 teaspoon salt

Juice of 1 fresh lime

Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Shrimp: Start by placing the peeled and deveined shrimp in a large mixing bowl, ensuring they are ready for seasoning.

Make the Seasoning Mix: In a separate small bowl, whisk together the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, dried oregano, dried thyme, black pepper, and salt until everything is thoroughly blended.

Season the Shrimp: Evenly sprinkle the seasoning mixture over the shrimp. Drizzle the olive oil and freshly squeezed lime juice on top. Carefully toss the shrimp until each piece is thoroughly coated with the seasoning.

Heat the Skillet: Preheat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Allow the pan to heat up for about 2-3 minutes until it is hot and ready for cooking.

Cook the Shrimp: Add the seasoned shrimp to the hot skillet in a single layer to ensure even cooking (you may need to cook them in multiple batches if your skillet is not large enough). Allow the shrimp to cook undisturbed for 2-3 minutes on one side. Once they turn pink, gently flip them over and cook for another 2-3 minutes until they are fully cooked through and opaque.

Serve and Garnish: Once cooked, remove the shrimp from the skillet and transfer them to a serving dish. Garnish generously with freshly chopped cilantro. Serve immediately for the best flavor and texture, whether as an appetizer, in tacos, or over a bed of fluffy rice!
