Ingredients

24 oz frozen cheese ravioli

2 cups marinara sauce

1 cup ricotta cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese

1 cup crumbled goat cheese

1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs (oregano, basil, thyme blend)

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 tablespoons olive oil

Salt and black pepper, to taste

Fresh basil leaves, for garnish

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C). While the oven heats, lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with a splash of olive oil to prevent sticking.

Sauté the Aromatics: In a large skillet set over medium heat, pour in 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Add the finely chopped onion, sautéing it until it becomes soft and translucent, which should take about 3-4 minutes. Next, incorporate the minced garlic and continue to cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, stirring frequently until the garlic is fragrant.

Prepare the Cheese Mixture: In a separate mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, half of the shredded mozzarella cheese, half of the grated Parmesan cheese, crumbled goat cheese, dried Italian herbs, and a pinch of salt and black pepper. Mix everything together until it's well blended and creamy.

Assemble the Casserole: Begin layering the casserole by spreading a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Next, place half of the frozen cheese ravioli on top of the sauce. Spoon half of the cheese mixture evenly over the ravioli. Repeat this layering with another layer of marinara sauce, the remaining ravioli, and finish with the last of the cheese mixture on top.

Top with Remaining Cheese: Generously sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses over the final layer of marinara sauce for a deliciously cheesy topping.

Bake the Casserole: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil, ensuring it is tightly sealed. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. After that time, carefully remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and develops a golden brown crust on top.

Garnish and Serve: Once baked, allow the casserole to cool for about 5 minutes before serving. For a burst of freshness and color, garnish each serving with freshly chopped basil leaves.
