Ingredients

2 ripe bananas

1 cup rolled oats

1/4 cup almond butter (or your favorite nut/seed butter)

2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

A pinch of salt

Optional: 1/4 cup chocolate chips or dried fruits (such as raisins, cranberries, etc.)

Optional: 1/4 cup chopped nuts (such as walnuts or almonds)

Instructions

Prepare the Bananas: In a spacious mixing bowl, use a fork or potato masher to mash the ripe bananas until they reach a smooth, creamy consistency. This will be the base of your snack bites.

Combine Ingredients: To the bowl with the mashed bananas, add in the rolled oats, almond butter, honey (or maple syrup), vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Stir thoroughly until all ingredients are uniformly mixed. If you’re including any optional chocolate chips, dried fruits, or nuts, gently fold them into the mixture at this stage.

Shape the Bites: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking. Use a tablespoon to scoop out portions of the mixture and roll them into bite-sized balls. Place each ball onto the prepared baking sheet, and feel free to adjust the size according to your preference.

Freeze: Transfer the baking sheet to the freezer and allow the bites to freeze for about 1-2 hours, or until they are firm to the touch and completely frozen.

Store: Once frozen, carefully transfer the snack bites to an airtight container or a zip-top bag. You can store these delightful treats in the freezer for up to 2 months, ensuring you always have a healthy snack on hand!

Enjoy: Whenever you need a quick snack or a delicious post-workout energy boost, simply grab a few bites from the freezer. Let them sit for a few minutes to soften slightly for easier munching.
