Ingredients

1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (approximately 4-6 medium lemons)

1 cup granulated sugar

5 cups water (divided)

2 tablespoons dried culinary lavender buds

Fresh lemon slices for garnish

Fresh lavender sprigs for garnish

Ice cubes

Instructions

In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of water with the granulated sugar. Place the saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar has fully dissolved and the mixture resembles a clear syrup.

Once the sugar has dissolved, remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the dried lavender buds. Cover the saucepan with a lid and allow the mixture to steep for 15-20 minutes to extract the lavender flavor.

After steeping, strain the lavender-infused sugar syrup through a fine-mesh sieve into a heatproof pitcher, discarding the lavender buds to leave only the syrup behind.

Pour the freshly squeezed lemon juice into the pitcher, carefully mixing it with the lavender syrup until fully combined.

Gradually add 4 cups of cold water to the lemonade mixture, stirring gently until all ingredients are well incorporated. Taste the lemonade and adjust the water amount to your preference; add more for a lighter flavor or less for a bolder taste.

Transfer the pitcher to the refrigerator and chill the lemonade for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld properly.

When ready to serve, fill a glass with ice cubes, then pour the chilled lavender lemonade over the ice. Garnish each glass with a slice of fresh lemon and a sprig of lavender for a beautiful presentation.
