Ingredients

1 lb ground chicken

1/2 cup whole wheat breadcrumbs

1/4 cup crumbled feta cheese

1/4 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 small onion, finely diced

1 large egg

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon ground cumin

1/2 teaspoon paprika

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

2 tablespoons olive oil (for frying)

Optional: yogurt or tzatziki sauce for serving

Instructions

Prepare the Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, whole wheat breadcrumbs, crumbled feta cheese, chopped parsley, minced garlic, and finely diced onion. Mix together until the ingredients are evenly distributed.

Seasoning: Add the egg, dried oregano, ground cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper to the bowl. Mixing thoroughly, integrate all the ingredients until you achieve a well-combined mixture. You can use your hands or a spatula to ensure everything is blended well.

Shape the Patties: To prevent the mixture from sticking to your hands, wet them slightly. Form the mixture into small patties, approximately 2 inches in diameter. You should get around 8-10 patties, depending on your preferred size.

Heat the Pan: In a large skillet, pour in the olive oil and heat over medium heat. Once the oil is shimmering, lower the heat to medium-low to prepare for cooking.

Cook the Patties: Carefully place the patties in the skillet, ensuring not to overcrowd them. Cook each side for about 5-6 minutes, until the patties are golden brown and cooked through. Check that the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) for safe consumption.

Serve: After cooking, transfer the patties to a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil. Serve them warm alongside yogurt or tzatziki sauce for dipping. These patties pair beautifully with pita bread, fresh salad, or roasted vegetables for a complete meal.
