Ingredients

2 ripe bananas

1/2 cup creamy or crunchy peanut butter (your choice)

1/4 cup honey or maple syrup

1/4 cup rolled oats

1/3 cup dark chocolate chips (optional, for drizzling)

A pinch of sea salt

Optional toppings: crushed nuts, coconut flakes, or chia seeds

Instructions

Prepare the Bananas: Begin by peeling the bananas and slicing them into thick rounds, approximately 1/2 inch thick. Arrange the slices on a clean surface or plate and set aside.

Make the Peanut Butter Mixture: In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the peanut butter, honey or maple syrup, and a pinch of sea salt. Stir vigorously until the mixture is thoroughly blended and creamy.

Assemble the Bites: Take each banana slice and dip it into the peanut butter mixture, ensuring that the slice is completely coated. Place the coated slices on a parchment-lined baking sheet in a single layer.

Add Toppings: Sprinkle rolled oats over half of the banana slices. If you'd like to add additional textures or flavors, go ahead and sprinkle your choice of crushed nuts, coconut flakes, or chia seeds over the remaining slices.

Freeze: Place the baking sheet in the freezer and allow the banana bites to freeze for about 1 hour, or until they are firm to the touch.

Chocolate Drizzle (Optional): If you choose to drizzle chocolate, melt the dark chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth. Once the banana bites are frozen, use a fork or piping bag to drizzle the melted chocolate over the top.

Final Freeze: Return the banana bites to the freezer for an additional 15-30 minutes to allow the chocolate drizzle to harden completely.

Serve: Once set, remove the banana bites from the freezer. Enjoy them right away as a delicious treat, or store them in an airtight container in the freezer, where they will keep well for up to 2 weeks.
