Ingredients

4 medium russet potatoes

3 tablespoons olive oil

2 teaspoons smoked paprika

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (or to taste)

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Fresh parsley, finely chopped (for garnish)

Optional: Your choice of dipping sauce (e.g., garlic aioli, ranch)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). To facilitate an easier cleanup process, line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare the Potatoes: Rinse the russet potatoes under cold water, using a vegetable brush to scrub any dirt from the surface. Keeping the skin on will enhance the texture and flavor. Halve each potato lengthwise, then slice each half into wedges (aim for about 8 wedges per potato).

Create the Seasoning Mix: In a spacious mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Stir together until a smooth, aromatic seasoning paste forms.

Coat the Potato Wedges: Introduce the potato wedges to the bowl with the seasoning mix. Toss them gently until each wedge is thoroughly coated in the flavorful oil and spices, ensuring every piece gets equal attention for optimal taste.

Arrange on Baking Sheet: Lay the seasoned wedges flat in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Make sure to leave space between each wedge to promote even cooking and prevent them from becoming soggy – overlapping will hinder crispiness.

Bake: Transfer the baking sheet to your preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes. About halfway through, flip the wedges to achieve an evenly crispy texture. They should emerge golden brown and deliciously crisp.

Garnish and Serve: Once baked, take the wedges out of the oven and let them cool for a couple of minutes on the baking sheet. Sprinkle freshly chopped parsley over the top as a vibrant garnish. Serve hot alongside your favorite dipping sauce for a mouthwatering treat.
